شورای ملی تصمیم با اندوه فراوان درگذشت ناصر تقوایی، نویسنده، فیلمساز، عکاس برجسته و یکی از پیشگامان موج نوی سینمای ایران، را به جامعه فرهنگی و هنری کشور و خانواده ایشان تسلیت می‌گوید.
آقای تقوایی روز سه‌شنبه، ۲۲ مهر ۱۴۰۴، در سن ۸۴ سالگی بر اثر بیماری در تهران درگذشت.
میراث هنری و آزاده زیستن
ناصر تقوایی، زاده آبادان، کارگردانی بود که سینما را با ادبیات و مستندسازی گره زد. او خالق آثار ماندگاری چون فیلم سینمایی «ناخدا خورشید» (برنده پلنگ برنزی جشنواره لوکارنو) و سریال بی‌نظیر «دایی جان ناپلئون» بود که شخصیت‌ها و شوخی‌هایش برای همیشه وارد فرهنگ عامه ایران شدند. آثار شاخص دیگری همچون «آرامش در حضور دیگران»، «صادق کرده» و «کاغذ بی‌خط» نیز نشان‌دهنده سبک منحصر به فرد و مؤلف او در سینما هستند.
نماد ایستادگی در برابر سانسور
بخش دیگری از میراث تقوایی، انتخاب دشوار آزاده زیستن و کم‌کاری عامدانه بود. او پس از انقلاب ۵۷، به دلیل اعتراض به محدودیت‌ها و سانسور، ربع قرن هیچ فیلم جدیدی نساخت و با شجاعت اعلام کرد:
«تا وقتی که سانسور این‌گونه عمل می‌کند، کار نمی‌کنم، فیلمی نمی‌سازم و کتابی چاپ نمی‌کنم.»
این تصمیم، ناصر تقوایی را به نمادی از هنرمندی تبدیل کرد که ارزش آزادی بیان را بر حجم تولید آثار ترجیح داد و سقف محدودیت‌ها را نپذیرفت. به همین دلیل، فقدان او نه فقط برای سینما، بلکه برای کل عرصه آزادی فرهنگی ایران، ضایعه‌ای جبران‌ناپذیر است.
مرضیه وفامهر، همسر ایشان، در وصف او نوشت: «هنرمندی که دشواری آزاده زیستن را برگزید به رهایی رسید.»
