نشر و آگاهی جرم نیست
جمهوری اسلامی را به خاطر سرکوب نشر سمندر و بازداشت فعالان فرهنگی محکوم می‌کنیم
ما ناشران ایرانی در خارج از کشور، با خشم و اندوه عمیق، حمله‌ی نیروهای امنیتی جمهوری اسلامی به نشر سمندر و بازداشت و شکنجه‌ی پنج فعال فرهنگی — حسن توزنده‌جانی (شاعر و فعال فرهنگی)، احسان رستمی (ناشر و مترجم)، مرجان اردشیرزاده (مترجم)، رامین رستمی و نیما مهدی‌زادگان (فعالان حوزه‌ی نشر و کتاب) — را به‌شدت محکوم می‌کنیم. این بازداشت‌ها که در تاریخ ۲۹ مردادماه ۱۴۰۴ به‌صورت هماهنگ انجام شد، نشانه‌ای دیگر از دشمنی جمهوری اسلامی با فرهنگ، کتاب و آگاهی است. گرچه در تاریخ ۵ آبان٬ مرجان اردشیر زاده و پرنیا رستمی موقتاً آزاد شدند٬ اما دیگر بازداشت شدگان همچنان دربند و تحت فشارند تا در مقابل دوربین، به «جرمِ نشر و اندیشه» اعتراف اجباری کنند
به‌گفته‌ی منابع موثق، مأموران وزارت اطلاعات و سازمان اطلاعات سپاه برای شکنجه‌ی روحی، جهانگیر رستمی، پدرِ احسان رستمی، را نیز در ۲۵ مهرماه از منزلش در شهر هرسین ربوده و به زندان اوین منتقل کرده‌اند. دو روز بعد، مأموران امنیتی، او را با چهره‌ای خون‌آلود و وضعیتی وخیم، در برابر دیدگان فرزندش قرار داده‌اند تا از طریق گروگان‌گیری خانوادگی، اعتراف‌گیری اجباری کنند. این رفتار، مصداق آشکار شکنجه، گروگان‌گیری و جنایت علیه بشریت است.
جمهوری اسلامی در چهار دههٔ گذشته، نشان داده است که با فرهنگ آزاد، نشر مستقل و آگاهی مردمی دشمنی بنیادین دارد. وزارت ارشاد، نهادهای امنیتی و دستگاه قضایی در عمل به ابزارهای سرکوب اندیشه بدل شده‌اند. هر ناشر، نویسنده یا مترجمی که اندکی از دایرهٔ تنگ سانسور و تبلیغات حکومتی بیرون رود، یا به زندان می‌افتد یا به سکوت واداشته می‌شود. نظامی که از آگاهی می‌ترسد، مشروعیت فرهنگی خود را از دست داده است.
ما ناشران ایرانی در تبعید و در خارج از کشور اعلام می‌کنیم که تا آزادی بی‌قید و شرط فعالان نشر سمندر و همهٔ زندانیان فرهنگی، از پای نخواهیم نشست.
ما از همهٔ نهادهای فرهنگی، دانشگاهی، اتحادیه‌های بین‌المللی ناشران و سازمان‌های حقوق بشری می‌خواهیم صدای خود را بلند کنند و از حق نشر بدون سانسور، آزادی بیان و آزادی اندیشه در ایران دفاع کنند.
در جهانی که کتاب، آگاهی و حقیقت هدف حکومت‌های استبدادی قرار گرفته‌اند، سکوت٬ همدستی با ستم است.
جمهوری اسلامی باید پاسخگوی این جنایت فرهنگی باشد.
